PURPOSE: To obtain a multicolor recording material capable of producing a developed color image in a number of colors larger than the number of fundamental color forming systems, by combining an aliphatic amine compound with a color forming system consisting of a leuco dye based on fluoran and a phenolic acidic substance.
CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material using two or more fundamental color forming systems, the first color forming system consisting of a leuco dye based on fluoran and a phenolic acidic substance is used, to which an aliphatic primary or secondary amine compound of the formula (wherein each of R5 and R6 is hydrogen, a 1W30C alkyl group, and amino-substituted alkyl group or the like) is added in a quantity of 1W20pts.wt. per 1pts.wt. of the leuco dye, and the components are applied to a base together with an ordinary binder and auxiliary additive components to produce a thermal color forming layer. The kind of the secondary color forming system is not restricted, and a thermal color forming layer comprising the second color forming system is provided on or beneath the first thermal color forming layer.
