PURPOSE: To prevent inclination of glass chip when making a structure from plate glass then heating it locally to work into L-shape thereafter combining two L-shaped chips having locally pressed corner section and adhering the corner section to pressure hold and encapsulate a lead.
CONSTITUTION: Plural sheets of plate glass 30 are piled and mounted on a diamond wheel slicer to be cut. Then a glass chip 20 is arranged on a zig 40 and heated locally by a burner 41 to be bent along the zig 40 to produce a L-shaped glass chip. At the same time, a lump at each corner section P is pressed to maintain same flatness with other section. Two such L-shaped glass chips are combined and joint corner sections at two points are welded through solder glass to produce a rectangular glass spacer.
