PURPOSE: To transfer a bubble with a large driving force without error, by providing a negative uniaxial anisotropic magnetic field at an area near the inside of a pattern boundary, in a contiguous disc (CD) type bubble magnetic domain element.
CONSTITUTION: On a single crystal substrate 11, a bubble storage layer 11 and a layer consisting of an ion injecting area 13 sectioned with a pattern boundary 15 and a non-ion injecting area are provided, and the non-ion injecting area consists of an area 21 in which the uniaxial anisotropic magnetic field HK just at the inside of the boundary 15 is negative and an area 22 in which the uniaxial anisotropic magnetic field at the inside is positive. When an inter-plane rotating magnetic field Hr is applied to the said CD type bubble magnetic domain element, a positive magnetizing wall 19 is formed at the outside of the pattern boundary 15 (symbol 15 means magnetic bubbles) and a magnetic pole is induced in the area 21 at the inside of the boundary 15 and can coexist in the same phase with the wall 19, then the bubble driving force can be increased, and the adverse effect due to a stray magnetic field at the regeneration of the wall 19 can be reduced, allowing to transfer magnetic bubbles without error.
