PURPOSE: To obtain effective warehouse operation and avoid the overflow in a warehouse by selecting a frontage pattern, which satisfies the predetermined conditions, from the patterns, which have been prepared in advance, based on the results of computation on the quantity of goods to be stored in the predetermined period in the future and conducting suitable modifications when the frontage pattern should be changed.
CONSTITUTION: Based on basic data such as a long-range operation plan, standard efficiency of both a manufacturing line and a fine array line, the rate of operation, etc. in addition to information on initial quantity of goods in stock, a tube manufacturing schedule, and a fine array schedule, a work progress management computer 50 predicts the change in the quantity of goods in stock and puts the result into an automatic management computer 51. A plurality number of kinds of frontage patterns are set in a dvance and memorized by the automatic management computer 51. The computer 51 selects a frontage pattern that is necessary to store the goods whose quantity has been predicted by the above computation. When the frontage pattern should be modified, change in tube delivery, pattern switching, re-change in tube delivery are carried out at proper time, based on the new frontage pattern. With this constitution, warehouse operation can be conducted smoothly and efficiently.
