PURPOSE: To relive damage to a tire due to a stone bite without entailing any drop in wet grip capacity, by installing protect blocks intermittently in each longitudinal groove installed in a circumferential direction of the tire, while forming each fine groove which separates both from position between these blocks.
CONSTITUTION: At least one piece of longitudinal grooves 2 is extendedly installed in the circumferential direction of a tire 1. And, protect blocks 5 extending out of both groove walls 3 of the longitudinal groove 2 and to be separated by each fine groove 4 are intermittently installed in these longitudinal grooves. At this time, these longitudinal grooves 2 are formed in a zigzag groove form together with the fine groove 4, while nicks 6 are formed in each block 6 at a proper circumferential pitch. In addition, each block is made to rise up from a groove bottom of the longitudinal groove 2, and disposed along these groove walls 3, then intermitted by a break part 8 installed in an inlet corner part of each of groove walls 3. And, a clearance l2 of the break part 8 in the tire circumferential direction is to be set to a range of 10W50% of length l1 in the circumferential direction of each block 5.
