Title:
METHOD FOR SYNTHESIZING ACETONE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60158131
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain advantageously acetone, by oxidizing propylene with oxygen in the presence of a binary catalyst consisting of a complex of ions having a low valence of a specific transistor metal with an oxyacid derivative of phosphorus and a complex of noble metal ions with an electron donative ligand.

CONSTITUTION: Propylene is oxidized with oxygen in the presence of a binary catalyst consisting of (A) a complex formed from ions having a low valence of a transition metal belonging to Group I b (copper group), Group IIb (zinc group), Group Vb (vanadium group), Group VIb (chrominum group), Group VIIb (manganese group) and Group VIII (iron, ruthenium and platinum groups) in the periodic table of elements and an oxyacid of phosphorus and (B) a complex formed from nobel metal ions (ruthenium and platinum groups) and an electron donative ligand to give acetone useful as a solvent and a raw material for methyl isobutyl ketone, etc. safety at a low temperature under a low pressure.
