Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve reproducing probability by detecting the quantity of error in the prescrived quantity of information at the reproducing of the information, and when it is decided that the quantity of the error is excessive in accordance with the detected result, reproducing the information again. CONSTITUTION:When a read command is outptted, a control circuit 42 moves an optical head to an objective track to start the reading of data written in an optical disc. A start mark and a start code are detected by a line header detecting part 57 and the timing is synchronized. An error detection part 58 detects errors. A control circuit 42 reads out the 1st scanning line, and when the counted value of an error conter 59 exceeds a prescribed value, an error decision part 60 decides the error and reading from a line header of the 1st line is indicated again. The control circuit 42 reads out the 1st canning line again on the basis of said indication, so that the reproducing probability is improved.
