PURPOSE: To prepare the titled substance useful as an intermediate of perfumes, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, etc., in high efficiency, by contacting a carbonic acid diester of allyl-type groups with a catalyst composed of a platinum-group metallic compound and an α,ω-alkylene di(di-substituted) phosphine.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula II can be prepared by contacting the compound of formula I (R1WR8 are H or hydrocarbon residue; R1WR4 may be a chain group or form a ring by arbitrary combination thereof) with a catalyst composed of (A) a platinum-group metallic compound and (B) an α,ω-alkylene di(di-substituted) phosphine at 50W150°C. The component (A) constituting the catalyst is, e.g. tris(tribenzylideneacetylacetone)=palladium, etc. and the component (B) is e.g. α,β-ethylene di(diphenyl)phosphine of formula III, etc. The molar ratio of the component (A) to (B) is 1:(0.7W1.5), and the amount of the component (A) is 0.01W10mol per 100mol of the raw material of the reaction.
