Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R is H, 1W10C univalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group of 5W10C univalent alicyclic hydrocarbon group; Ar is m- phenylene or p-phenylene).
EXAMPLE: p-Phenylenebis(α-cyanobutadienecarboxylic acid).
USE: Useful as a raw material of a photo-crosslinking polyester sensitive even to visible light.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by the dehydrative condensation of phenylenebisacrolein of formula II with α-cyanoacetic acid of formula III or its ester derivative in a solvent such as methanol in the presence of a catalyst (reaction accelerator) at -30W+80°C for 1minW72hr.
