Title:
ANTI-STATIC AND ELASTIC FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5841948
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
A fabric (10) and body strap (16) having both electrically conductive and elastomeric properties. A fabric (10) is formed by interlacing at least one yarn into a series of interlocking loops and preferably knitted. The yarn includes an end having an electrically conductive fiber and an end having an elastomeric fiber. It is preferred that an electrically conductive yarn (20) and an insulative yarn (18) are interlaced together to form a series of interlocking loops. The electrically conductive yarn (20) includes an end having an electrically conductive fiber and the insulative yarn (18) includes an end having an insulative fiber. Either one or both of the electrically conductive fiber and the insulative fiber is plaited with an end having an elastomeric fiber. The electrically conductive yarn (20) and the insulative yarn (18) may be knit together on two levels forming a face (22) and a back (24) with the electrically conductive yarn (20) forming interlocking loops on the face (22) while the insulative yarn (18) forms interlocking loops on both the face (22) and back (24). Electrical and mechanical connectors (12), either separate or combined, form the fabric (10) into a body strap (16).
