PURPOSE: To limit the bands of the 1st and 2nd digital color difference signals, and to simplify a circuit, by passing spot sequence digital color difference signals through a digital filter.

CONSTITUTION: Green, red, and blue signals G, R, and B having a sampling rate 2fsc are obtained from CCDs 1G, 1R, and 1B. The color signals G, R, and B are supplied to A-D converters 2G, 2R, and 2B, where they are converted into digital color signals CG, CR, and CB and processed. The digital color signals CG, CR, and CB are supplied to interpolating circuits 4G, 4R, and 4B, where they are rate-converted into sequences with a rate 4fsc. The color signals CR and CB are supplied to a multiplexer 12 to obtain a spot-sequence digital color signal CR/CB consisting of the color signals CR and CB extracted at intervals of 1/4fsc. A color difference sigal (CR-CY)/(CB-CY) which a luminance signal CY is removed, is supplied to a digital filter 14 which limits the band of the color difference signal.
