PURPOSE: To reduce in size by slanting teeth of a signal rotor and a projected part passing through an electromagnetic pickup which is faced at a prescribed angle against the plain surface vertical to a rotating axis and by making the shapes of top end parts almost coincide with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A device generating an ignition signal is constituted of a signal rotor 5, an electric pickup 6 and a bracket 7. Each tooth 5a of the signal rotor 5 is slant at a prescribed angle to the plain surface vertical to a rotating axis of the rotor, and a projected part 7a in which the electric pickup 6 is passed through by bending the end part of the bracket, is faced to the signal rotor 5. This projected part 7a is slanted at the same angle as the signal rotor tooth 5a, and the shapes of a end surface 7b of the projected part 7a and a top end surface 5b of the signal rotor tooth 5a are allowed to almost coincide with each other. By such a way, the size is reduced in an axial direction of the signal rotor.
