Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (W is H or eliminating group which causes elimination when oxide of aromatic primary amine derivative is subjected to coupling reaction; R1 is substituent group; V is N or CR3; When V is N, R2 is substituent group and when V is CR3, at least one of R2 and R3 is electron attracting substituent group and the other is substituent group, provided that when R2 or R3 is aliphatic group or aromatic group, the other is not acyl; R1 and R2 together may form a ring). EXAMPLE:A compound expressed by formula II. USE:Cyan coupler for photograph capable of providing cyan color image reduced in subsidiary absorption and having good duplicativity and excellent fastness. PREPARATION:For example, 3-nitrobensonitrile is allowed to heat with acetonitrile in the presence of potassium tert.-butoxide to give a compound expressed by formula III, which is then made to with malononitrile and the resultant compound expressed by formula IV is reduced with iron and then subjected to a reaction with a compound expressed by formula V to provide the exemplified compound.
