To inexpensively provide means for detecting whether or not a toilet seat is mounted on a toilet seat support, in a toilet seat device including a removable toilet seat.
In this toilet seat device S, a magnetism transmitting element 4 formed of a ferromagnetic body is disposed between a magnet 7 of the toilet seat 1 and a magnetic sensor 3 of the toilet seat support 10, and the magnetic sensor 3 and the magnet 7 are set to always come close to the magnetism transmitting element 4 regardless of turning position of the toilet seat 1. When the toilet seat 1 is mounted on the toilet seat support 10, the magnetic sensor 3 always detects magnetism of the magnet 7 through the magnetism transmitting element 4, so that the mounting state of the toilet seat 1 is accurately determined according to a detection signal of the magnetic sensor 3. Even when the turning range of the toilet seat 1 and the disposing positions of the magnetic sensor 3 and the magnet 7 change, the shape and size of the magnetism transmitting element 4 are suitably selected to cope with such change. Therefore, the magnet and the magnetic sensor on the market can be adopted without remodeling, so that the cost can be held down.
