To provide a toilet seat lift reducing a load by electrically raising and lowering a toilet seat unit, miniaturizing a motor used for an electric drive source and preventing the breaking of a drive mechanism by overload when raising or lowering the toilet seat unit.
This toilet seat lift 1 is so formed that the rotating driving force of a stepping motor 7 is transmitted to a right-side slider 51 via a speed reducing gear train 70, an output pinion 80, and a rack 53 to raise/lower a movable plate 6 connected with the toilet seat unit. This device is further provided with a ratchet mechanism 79 cutting off the connection between the stepping motor 7 and the toilet seat unit 10 for cutting off an inertia force of a rotor 76 rotated in a step-out state by the overload.
