Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are 1-7C straight-chain alkyl; n is an integer of 1-7).
EXAMPLE: A compound expressed by formula II.
USE: An electrooptical display material or material for manufacturing super- twisted nematic-liquid crystal display (STN-LCD). The compound expressed by formula I has excellent compatibility with compounds expressed by formula III and mixed liquid crystals thereof have perpendicular orienting properties.
PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula IV is reacted with a compound expressed by formula V in the presence of a strong base such as sodium hydride in an ethereal solvent to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
