Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the ultrasonic flaw detecting method, which can obtain the high flaw detecting accuracy without the long flaw detecting time.
CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic probe 6 is intermittently moved from an initial position P1 rightward at an equal interval and detects flaws on positions P2, P3, P4, P5 and P6. Intersections Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5 and Q6 represents the intersections between ultrasonic-wave paths L2-L6 and a frictional compressing surface W1. The intersection Q6 is located on the outer surface of a work W. The work W is rotated once during the period, wherein the ultrasonic probe 6 is located at each position Pn (n=1-6). In the locus of each intersection Qn when the work W is rotated once, a point R1 corresponds to the intersection Q1. Circles R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 correspond to the intersections Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5 and Q6. Searching regions S1-S6 are set on ultrasonic path L1-L6. Divided regions A1-A6 are introduced into the searching regions S1-S6 by the rotation of the work W.
