PURPOSE: To realize a tomograph in which an image can be obtained from at least one plane section of an object by employing a high energy pulse source and at least one small optical rod detector.
CONSTITUTION: A high energy pulse of a predetermined frequency from an X-ray source 4 passes through a primary collimator 11a to traverse an object 3 in the vicinity of a plane section 2 and then traverses a secondary collimator 11b. After traversing the collimator, 11b, the pulse having attenuated energy is received by one or more small rod 10 detector which then delivers an electric detection pulse to an output terminal 12. Means 5, 6, 7 support the object 3 and then translates and turns the object. The terminal 12 is connected with an integrating amplifier circuit 13 and a computer 15 is connected with a circuit 13, a memory 16 and means 17 for displaying the image 1 of a section 2. The computer 15 controls the circuit 13 according to a program stored in the memory 16 and then controls the display of the image 1 on the screen of the means 17 based on rough measurements and correction values.
