PURPOSE: To keep image density constant even after continuous use by incorporating a electrically conductive polymer as a component of binding resin.
CONSTITUTION: When a toner is composed essentially of binding resin and a colorant, an electrically conductive polymer is incorporated as a component of the binding resin. The amt. of the electrically conductive polymer incorporated into the toner depends on the kind of the binding resin, the kind and amt. of the colorant and the presence of additives used as required. The pref. amt. of the electrically conductive polymer is, however, 0.5W20wt.% of the amt. of the binding resin. The resistance of the toner can be regulated, an increase in the extent of electrostatic charge due to repeated use is suppressed and image density can be kept constant.
