To provide a toner manufactured via granulation in a liquid phase and containing a plurality of colorants at the desired ratio, and to provide a method for manufacturing the toner, by which a toner containing a plurality of colorants at the desired ratio, is manufactured through granulation in liquid phase.
The toner includes toner particles formed by granulation in a liquid phase, wherein the toner particles have a core area and a shell area coating the periphery of the core area and having a composition different from that of the core area. The core area consists of materials containing a resin material and a first colorant, the shell area consists of materials including a resin material and a second colorant, and the first colorant and the second colorant are different from each other in composition. It is preferable that the average thickness L [m] of the shell areas and the average particle diameter d [m] of the second colorant contained in the shell areas satisfy the relation 0.01d/L0.2.
