Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect toner end in a toner storage part.SOLUTION: A toner supply device 200 supplying a toner to a developing unit 112 comprises: a toner bottle 210 that is removably provided and accommodates a toner; a sub hopper 220 that is filled with the toner from the toner bottle 210 and supplies the toner to the developing unit 112; a toner presence/absence sensor 222 that detects whether the toner inside the sub hopper 220 reaches a predetermined amount; and a control part 230 that, when the toner inside the sub hopper 220 does not reach the predetermined amount, drives to rotate the toner bottle 210, and if the toner inside the sub hopper 220 does not reach the predetermined amount even when the toner bottle is driven to rotate for a predetermined period, detect toner end. The control part 230 executes a toner moving operation of closing a cap 211 and driving to rotate the toner bottle 210 at a predetermined timing other than a period during which the control part drives to rotate the toner bottle 210 and fills the sub hopper 220 with the toner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
