This tool for adjusting the length is equipped with a rail 2 having a multiple number of engaging parts 13 along a belt form direction and a slider 3 inserted with the same. The slider has a sliding frame body 20, an attaching part 30 for clothes, etc., an engaging body 40 installed at the inside of the sliding frame body as displaceable, an energizing means 50 installed at the inside of the sliding frame body and energizing the engaging body in the direction of engaging with the engaging part and a releasing knob 60 installed at the sliding frame body as transferrable and releasing the engagement of the engaging body with the engaging part. The sliding frame body has a insertion hole 21 for inserting the rail and a surrounding wall for forming the insertion hole.
