Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a grinding/polishing tool which enables a number of machining processes by dispersing magnetic and nonmagnetic abrasive grains, and bonding them to a bonding agent.
CONSTITUTION: Abrasive grains 1 with a magnetic property and nonmagnetic abrasive grains 2 are mixed in a bonding agent 3 and stirred. Next, magnetic forces are exerted by an electromagnet 5 from above and below the bonding agent 3 to concentrate the magnetic abrasive grains 1 into a band. Then the bonding agent 3 is heated and cured by a heater 8 to bond the magnetic 1 and the nonmagnetic 2 abrasive grains together with the bonding agent 3.
