To provide a tool transferring device of a machine tool, for shortening the changing time for a tool by reliably performing the tool changing operation by few actuators.
A tool 78 indexed in the tool deliver position A is gripped by a gripper 28 by operating a gripping cylinder 30, a separating cylinder 36 is operated to move a bracket 14 and the griper 28 together with a plate cam 12, and the tool 78 is separated from a tool magazine 70 together with a tool pot 74. After that, a turning cylinder 26 is operated to engage a cam groove 12a provided on the plate cam 12 with a turning cam follower 28b provided on the gripper 28, the turning movement of the bracket 14 and the reciprocating movement of the griper 28 in relation to the bracket 14 are performed, and the tool 78 is transferred from the tool deliver position A to the tool changing position B.
