To allow a one-handed type stick-shaped implement such as a toothbrush to stand by itself without causing a cost increase and to prevent deterioration of usability.
The toothbrush with self-standing mechanism includes: a body 2A formed by having a brush 11 at the end of a handle 10; and a self-standing mechanism by a leg member 12 opened/closed between a closed position where the base end side thereof is journaled to a midpoint of the handle 10 and the end is tightly stuck to the base end of the handle 10, and an open position where the end is opened by a prescribed angle from the handle 10. The leg member 12 is integrated with the handle 10 at the closed position along the longitudinal direction of the handle 10 by being locked and fixed by a locking means formed of a fitting hole 102 and a projection 121. The fixed state thereof is released by holding the end side with fingers and urging it in the open direction, and the leg member is opened by the prescribed angle and stopped at the open position. The leg member 12 supports the handle 10 inclined towards the side of the leg member 12, while coming into contact with a mounting surface at the tip end side, so that the body 2A stands by itself, with the side of the brush 11 raised.
