Title:
TOOTH CEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5721308
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a tooth cement having high physical strength, capable of preventing the secondary decay and useful as a dental cement for restoration and bonding, by adding a specific amount of chlorhexidine acid addition salt to powdery tooth cement.

CONSTITUTION: The objective tooth cement is prepared by compounding a conventional powdery tooth cement with 0.05W5wt% of a chlorhexidine acid addition salt. The addition of the chlorhexidine acid addition salt known as a fungicide gives a cement having extremely high compression strength. The acid addition sald is, e.g. hydrochloride, gluconate, acetate, oxalate, lactate, methanesulfonate, etc., and the powdery cement is, e.g. zinc phosphate cement, silica alumina powder, silicate powder, etc. Addition of a fluoride to the powdery cement further improves the preventive effect of the secondary decay.
