Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce easily a toothed belt having large engaging strength in a small space by applying a metal mold to an end of an inorganic tensile strength body and pouring metal of hard synthetic resin into the metal mold to form teeth of engaging portions. CONSTITUTION:In a toothed belt 1 comprising a belt base 1a and a belt tooth portion 1b is embedded a tensile strength body 2. Rubber portions at both ends of the toothed belt are removed to expose an end 2a of the tensile strength body. To the both ends are applied the upper and lower side metal molds into which melted metal or hard synthetic resin is poured to form an engaging portion 1c comprising teeth corresponding to the size of a belt tooth portion 1b of about one tooth. Such engaging portion, compared with belt tooth portion of rubber teeth, can increase substantially the strength, make the cutting-off difficult and reduce the factor of safety. Also, it can be easily produced.
