To provide a top plate rotation device for a folding table which enables a space under the place to be widened, the strength of legs to be enhanced, and the rotation of the top place to be done smoothly for a folding table keeping the top plate sustained at its horizontal posture or vertical posture by jointing upper arms attached to right and left sides of the lower surface of the top place with upper ends of the right and left leg bodies.
An upper arm 13 has a roughly upside-down U-shaped cross section in which two side boards 15 are vertically hung from a fixed board 14 attached to a top plate. A circular shaft bush hole 31 is formed in the outer side board of the upper arm. A U-shaped opening 32 is formed in the inner side board of the upper arm. The end of a joint tube 9 on which two top plate fixing metal pieces 16 are fixed at both the ends is inserted into the U-shaped opening and is placed in the upper arm. A shaft section 38 formed on the horizontal section 37 of a leg-jointing member 8 jointed to the top end of a leg body is inserted into a sliding ring 34 attached to the shaft bush hole pivotably and its top is placed in the upper arm. The horizontal section of the leg-jointing member and the jointing tube are jointed with each other unpivotably in the upper arm.
