To provide a top toy for which a string body can easily be wound around the top toy body by anybody by using a grip member.

This top toy is constituted of a top toy body 1 and a grip member 2 which supports the top toy body 1. The grip member 2 is equipped with a supporting member 41 which supports the top toy body 1, and engaging sections 52 and 55 with which the excessive length of the string body 3 being wound around the top toy body 1 in a state of being supported by the supporting member 41 is engaged. The supporting member 41 is equipped with a fixing means 64 for fixing the top toy 1. The fixing means 64 makes the attaching to/detaching from the top toy body 1 operable. The top toy body 1 is provided with an engaging port 20 with which the supporting member 41 is engaged, and an engaging section 36 which engages with the fixing means 64 is provided in the engaging port 20.
