Title:
PRODUCTION OF METALLURGICAL COKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3152159
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain metallurgical coke at a low cost by producing it by adjusting the compounding ratio of a plurality of kinds of coal including low- grade coal by using a formula representing the relation among the Na2O+K2O content, the SiO2+Al2O content, and the strengths after hot reaction.
SOLUTION: In producing metallurgical coke by compounding a plurality of kinds of coal, the compounding ratio is adjusted so that the Na2+K2O content and SiO2+Al2O3 content in the coal blend satisfy the relation represented by the formula. In the formula, A1 is a constant, 0.0805; A2 is a constant, 0.0795; and Csio2, CAl203, CNa20, and CK20 are the contents (wt.%, based on dry coal) of SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, and K2O, respectively, in the coal blend. Thus, high-quality metallurgical coke is obtd. economically from low-grade coal merely by adjusting the compounding ratio without the necessity for a pretreatment step such as separation of ash from coal.
