PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the powder clogging in powder holes by feeding the powder to a groove with which a plurality of powder holes are communicated through a powder feeding passage, and setting the total sectional area of the powder holes to be not less than that of the powder feeding passage.
CONSTITUTION: A jet nozzle 14 of the plasma arc is formed in the center part of a torch head part 16 of a torch 24 for the plasma cladding by welding. A plurality of powder holes 22 are formed on the outer side surrounding the jet nozzle 14 diagonally toward the center with the prescribed intervals in the circumferential direction. The powder holes 22 are communicated with a ring- shaped groove 18 which is formed on the upper surface of the torch head part 16, and opened upwardly. The groove 18 is communicated with a plurality of powder feeding passages 20 formed on a torch body 12. The powder material to be fed to the groove 18 through the powder feeding passage 20 is fed to the powder holes 22 together with the carriage gas to be fed into the plasma arc. The total sectional area of the powder holes 22 is not less than that of the powder feeding passage 20, and the powder material is not excessively fed, and no powder clogging is generated.
