Abstract:
PURPOSE: To control the inclination of a plurality of power rollers with no difference thereamong, in a toroidal type continuous variable transmission with a simple arrangement.
CONSTITUTION: A toroidal type continuously variable transmission 2 comprises an input disc 5, an output disc, and a pair of power rollers 7a, 7b which are inclined when roller drive members 34a, 34b having trunnions 21, 21b are moved axially. Meanwhile, meanwhile the axial movement of a drive member 34a is fed-back to a spool 68 n a speed change ratio control valve 6 through the intermediary of a feed-back mechanism 80. The spool 68 is urged by a resilient member 85, and the urging force of the member 85 is set to a value corresponding to the roller drive member 34a. The other roller drive member 34b is supported by another resilient member 90 having an urging force which corresponds to the weight of the member 34b. Accordingly, one of resilient members exclusively used for supporting the roller drive members can be eliminated.
