Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of preventing the breaking of attachment members without increasing the size of the attachment members.SOLUTION: Since attachment flanges 120 are provided separately from a cylinder body 100, the attachment flanges 120 can be formed out of a different material from a material of the cylinder body 100. By forming the attachment flanges 120 out of iron or the like that is the material higher in strength than the cylinder body 100, it is possible to increase the strength of the attachment flanges 120. It is, therefore, possible to prevent the breaking of the attachment flanges 120 without increasing the size of the attachment flanges 120.
