PURPOSE: To transmit torque in a noncontact manner, by arranging a group of magnets with opposite poles to the facing surface each other on each outside circumference of a driving pulley and a follower pulley.
CONSTITUTION: A torque transmission device is equipped with a driving pulley 1 and a follower pulley 2 and composed of a magnet 3 having an S pole fixed to this driving pulley 1 and multiple magnets 4 with N pole each at suitable intervals close to the outside circumference of the follower pulley 2. If the driving pulley 1 rotates in the direction of an arrow as shown in figure, the magnet 3 fixed to the driving pulley 1 will rotate. As the poles of multiple magnets 4 fixed to the follower pulley 2 and that of the magnet 3 are different, attractive force is acted between these magnets, so that the magnets 4 will rotate within the range of the action of attractive force. Since the magnet 4 is fixed to the follower pulley 2, the follower pulley 2 will rotate accordingly.
