Title:
TORQUE TRANSMITTING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3219834
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve buffer function by providing a torque transmitting apparatus wherein, a rotary elastic damper comprises an energy storing element acting in a circumferential direction, a casing having a section covering the energy storing element at an radial profile and axially extending, and the energy storing element is supported in this section under a centrifugal action over the whole length of the energy storing element.
CONSTITUTION: A damper 17 is accommodated in an inner space 16 defined by casing shells 7, 8. The damper 17 is secured to be in rotary and elastic connection with a drive shaft member formed by a driven hub 14 and the casing shell 7. The damper 17 has an energy storing element 19 which is formed by mutually confined coil springs 20, 21. The coil springs 20, 21 are radially supported by the casing shell 7. Therefore, the casing shell 7 has a section 22 axially covering the energy storing element 19. This section forms an outermost profile in a radial direction of the casing shell 7. As a consequence, the energy storing element is arranged at a diameter as large as possible, thereby the greatest spring ability can be obtained.
