Abstract:
To enable operations performed on an object to be accurately discriminated even under a noise environment.SOLUTION: A capacitance detection unit detects capacitance between an electrode and an object on a prescribed cycle as detected capacitance C. A control unit determines on the basis of a difference between the detected capacitance C and a reference capacitance Cr whether or not operation has been performed on the object. The control unit updates the reference capacitance Cr with the detected capacitance C. The control unit stops updating the reference capacitance Cr for only a first period T1 when the detected capacitance C is larger than the reference capacitance Cr and the difference is larger than a threshold Cth. The control unit determines whether or not the updating of the reference capacitance Cr in the first period T1 was stopped when the detected capacitance C is smaller than the reference capacitance Cr and the difference is larger than the threshold Cth. When it is determined that the updating was not stopped, the control unit stops updating the reference capacitance Cr for only a second period T2. When it is determined that the updating was stopped, the control unit stops updating the reference capacitance Cr for only a third period T3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
