The doll body 1 has a buttock sensor 23 and a forehead sensor 31 and emits different sounds or talks with a user depending on the combination of sensing and non-sensing actions of the sensors. When the doll body 1 is made to sit for example, the doll body gets into a "sound recognizing condition" in which the buttock sensor 23 does not sense light and the forehead sensor 31 senses light. When the doll body 1 is lifted in the arms from the "sound recognizing condition, " the doll body gets into a "lifted in the arms condition" in which the buttock sensor 23 does not sense light and the forehead sensor senses light. When the doll body 1 is tightly embraced away from the "lifted in the arms condition, " the doll body gets into an "tightly embraced condition" in which the buttock sensor senses light and the forehead sensor does not sense light. When a room is darkened in the "sound recognizing condition", the doll body gets into a "turned off condition" in which the buttock sensor 23 does not sense light and the forehead sensor 31 does not sense light.
