PURPOSE: To permit a traveling vehicle to be used even in a tunnel having a small cornering radius R, because of the effectiveness of small turn.

CONSTITUTION: A trackless traveling vehicle in tunnel is equipped with a pair of driving wheels 103 and 103 which are arranged in the lateral direction for the traveling direction, electric motors 105 and 105 installed for the respective driving wheels 103 and 103, and a control circuit 131 which obtains the number of revolution of one driving wheel 103 among a pair of driving wheels 103 and 103 and the number of revolution of the other driving wheel 103 according to the change quantity of the traveling direction and instructs the electric motors 105 and 105 so that the corresponding driving wheels 103 and 103 revolve with this number of revolutions.
