Abstract:
To provide a traction elevator capable of reducing the cross-section area of a hoistway and allowing safe maintenance and inspection of a hoist.
This elevator is provided with a winding rope 3 lifting an elevator car 1 and a counter weight 2, and a hoist with a traction sheave 8 driving the wound winding rope 3, installed in an elevator hoistway 15. The hoist is installed in the vertically projected plane of the elevator car 1 under the hoistway 15.
