Abstract:
PURPOSE:To execute a transaction even at an off-line time by providing a means to execute the transaction by the on-line of the portable media and an external device and a means to execute the transaction by the amount information of the portable media at the time of the off-line transaction. CONSTITUTION:A user inserts an IC card into a paying device, and inputs a pass word number by an operating part 59 in accordance with a guide. When those are coincident with each other, a main control part 70 judges that the transaction with the corresponding account can be executed at a central processing unit 75, and executes the transaction processing in accordance with the supplied transaction data. When the paying device is the off-line which cannot connect the line with a central processing unit 75, a main control part 70 reads the amount information from the data memory in the IC card, controls a paying mechanism 62, etc., in accordance with the amount information and the supplied transaction data and executes the transaction processing such as the receiving processing or the paying processing. A CPU in the IC card renews the amount information to the amount extracting the transaction amount, records the transaction amount and the transaction data to the data memory in the IC card and outputs the transaction completion to the main control part 70.
