To provide a transcription-activating complex comprising a complex of a transcription-regulating factor and a transcription-coupling factor belonging to ARNT family, capable of binding to a CME sequence competitively with a complex of a transcription-regulating factor single-minded 2 (Sim2) and the transcription-coupling factor belonging to ARNT family, and having an ability for accelerating transcription of a gene positioned in a downstream region of the sequence.
This transcription-activating complex is a complex of any one of the transcription-coupling factors ARNT 1-3 and any one of transcription-regulating factors having specified amino acid sequences, such as (a) an amino acid sequence expressed by any one of the sequence numbers 1-3 (referred to the specification) or (b) another amino acid sequence which exhibits amino acid identity of ≥90% to the amino acid sequences expressed by any one of the sequence numbers 1-3 and has transcription-regulating ability. The transcription-activating complex has the ability for binding to a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to which a transcription-repressing complex of the transcription-coupling factor and the transcription-regulation factor Sim2 can bind, and further has the ability for accelerating the transcription of the gene positioned in the downstream region of the DNA.
