PURPOSE: To perform transfer with good accuracy by arranging first and second detectors on the traveling path of a beltlike transfer film and by separating a transfer roller and a jig relatively from each other through detection of a detection mark by the second detector while stopping the feed of the beltlike transfer film through causing the first detector to detect the next detection mark.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer roller 1 is normally heated to a temperature within the range of 180-230°C to rotate in the feed direction of a film 4 and a molded item 17 comes in contact with the transfer roller 1 via the film 4 while a transfer foil 13 is transferred to the surface of the molded item. When the transfer foil 13 of a desired length part is transferred to the molded item 17, the detection mark 14 of the film 4 reaches a second detector 12, the mark 14 is detected by the detector 12, and an air cylinder 2 descends at once to separate the molded item 17 and film 4 from the transfer roller 1. In the meantime, the beltlike transfer film 4 travels and, when the next mark 14 to the mark 14 detected by the first detector 11 reaches the first detector 11, the feed of the beltlike transfer film 4 is stopped by detection through the detector 11.
