Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately detect the presence or absence of a transfer maternal without being affected by stain by deciding a threshold for deciding whether the transfer material is sucked or not based on a peak value on a light receiving signal level side in a state where the transfer material is sucked out of the light receiving signal level of a photosensor in a state where the transfer material is not sucked.
CONSTITUTION: The light receiving signal level of areas t1 to t2 where the presence or absence of the prescribed transfer material should be detected out of the light receiving signal level (curve D) of the photosensor in the case the transfer material is not sucked to the surface of a transfer material sucking body in the new transfer material sucking body in adjusting order before it is started to be used is measured. Next, the peak value Pd on the light receiving signal level (curve C) side in a state where the transfer material is sucked is obtained out of the measured values. Then, the threshold S is decided based on the reference value Mc and the peak value Pd, previously set, of the light receiving signal level (curve C) in a state where the transfer material is sucked. Thus, whether the transfer material is sucked or not is detected.
