PURPOSE: To provide a transfer apparatus capable of well transferring the matter to be transferred formed on a film like transfer material to a receiving surface without generating wrinkles.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer material 2 is arranged so as to leave a gap from the receiving surface of a face plate 6. In this state, tension is applied to the transfer material 2. A heating roll 3 is lowered toward the face plate 6 in order to transfer the matter to be transferred on the transfer material 2 by pressing the transfer material 2 to the face plate 6 to be brought into contact with the transfer material and, at this point of time, a tension control bar 1 is controlled to reduce the tension of the transfer material 2. By pressing the transfer material 2 to the receiving surface in this state by a press roll to rotate the same, the matter to be transferred on the transfer material is well transferred to the receiving surface. Therefore, this method is useful in such a case that an anode is formed on the surface of the face plate by transfer.
