PURPOSE: To enhance the yield and productivity of a product by bonding the part irradiated with light or ionizing radiation of a transfer layer to an adhesive layer and subsequently peeling off a transfer foil to transfer the transfer layer having a desired pattern.
CONSTITUTION: After an adhesive layer 2 cured by light or ionizing radiation is provided to the surface of a transfer material 1, a transfer foil 5 consisting of a releasable base material 3 and a transfer layer 4 is laminated to the adhesive layer 2 so that the transfer layer 4 comes into contact with the adhesive layer 2. The transfer foil is patternwise irradiated with light or ionizing radiation 7 through a mask 6 having a desired pattern formed thereto to transfer the transfer layer 4 to the transfer material 1 patternwise. Subsequently, the releasable base material 3 is peeled off to form the transfer layer on the transfer material 1. When transfer layers different in color or size are formed, for example, four kinds of different transfer layers are formed, the first transfer layer 11 is formed and, thereafter, the second, third and fourth transfer layers 12, 13, 14 may be successively transferred in the same way while different transfer foils are used.
