PURPOSE: To obtain the transfer paper that exhibits an excellent performance to be used for pottery and glass wares, by laying on a substrate paper an adhesive layer of a sodium salt of sulfoethyl cellulose with a degree of etherification above a specified value, a pattern layer and a sealing layer in turn.
CONSTITUTION: Onto the substrate paper 1 is coated an aqueous solution of a sodium salt of sulfoethyl cellulose having a degree of etherification of 0.2 or more to form the adhesive layer 2, and on the adhesive layer 2 is applied an inorganic pigment in admixture with a binder by offset printing, silk screen printing or the like to obtain the pattern layer 3. Further a solution of a high molecular material such as nitrocellulose acetate nitrocellulose, ethylcellulose or the like is coated by silk screen printing or the like to form the sealing layer 4, so that the transfer paper for pottery, glass and enameled wares that is superior to the previous art is obtainable.
