A conversion section 105 in a digital television display device 100 includes: a reception section 201 for receiving packets at a transfer rate set as an input side; a NULL deletion section 221 for deleting a NULL packet from the received packets; a buffer 202 for storing the packets after the NULL packet is deleted; a transmission section 203 for transmitting a packet read from the buffer 202 at a transfer rate on an output side lower than that of the input side and set in accordance with a post-stage demodulation data processing section 603; and a NULL adjustment section 222 for providing a NULL packet as a packet to be transmitted when the transmission section 203 transmits the packet to perform adjustment so that the packet can be transferred at the transfer rate on the output side.
