PURPOSE: To extract jam paper easily at the jam generation of transfer paper by rotating the jam paper around a rotation supporting point formed on one end of a rotary base board arranged on the opposite side to a photosensitive drum when observed from a transfer paper carrying course in a separating direction from the drum.

CONSTITUTION: When jam is generated in transfer paper due to any reason, release in the arrow 23 direction is executed around the supporting shaft 22 of the rotary base board 21 by operating a proper release lever. As the result,a paper feed lower guide plate 20, a lower regist roller 3, a transfer lower guide plate 5, a transfer charger 6, a press wire 7, a separator roller 11, and a separation guide plate 15 which are embers arranged on the rotary base board 21 are simultaneously moved downwards to make the transfer paper 16 free. A turn belt 14 rotates around a turn belt supporting point 13 and does not interrupt the downward movement of the roller 11. At the time of jam paper removement, the transfer paper can be prevented from being broken because resistance does not almost exist at the pulling of the jam paper,and the jam treatment can be smoothly executed without the removal of the turn belt.
