To provide a transfer supporting apparatus which allows easy and quick transfer operation and prevents such a situation in which a person to be cared is sandwiched and pressed by a sitting object and a body support device.

The transfer supporting apparatus 10 includes a support base 11, a post 13 having one end mounted on the support base 11 so as to be freely tilted on the support base, the body support device 30 mounted on the other end of the post 13 and held by a person P to be cared, a drive means 20 for tilting the post 13, a measuring means 40 for measuring the distance between the body support device 30 and the sitting object 60, and a control means 50 for controlling the drive means 20. The control means 50 controls the drive means 20 on the basis of the distance measured by the measuring means 40 during an operation to bring the body support device 30 near the person P to be cared. By doing so, the body support device 30 supports the person P to be cared sitting on the sitting object 60.
