PURPOSE: To improve precision of detecting motion due to follow motion of a transfer guide and to prevent production of wrinkle of a heat transfer sheet, by a method wherein the surface of a central part in the direction of width of the transfer guide for heat transfer sheets is formed by a friction member having high friction coefficient against the heat transfer sheet, and the other surface is formed by a low friction member.
CONSTITUTION: In a heat transfer recorder, when a paper 2 is conveyed to a printing part 1, a heat transfer sheet 7 reeled around a core 6 on the unroll side, simultaneously, is fed to the printing part 1 by means of tension T1 through driving of a platen roller 4, forced into press contact with a thermal head 3, and a core 5 on the reel-up side. After printing is made by the printing part 1, the heat transfer sheet 7 and the paper 2 are separated from each other in the vicinity of a transfer guide 16. The surface of the central part in the direction of width of the transfer guide 16 is formed by a friction material 17 having high friction coefficient against the heat transfer sheet 7, and other surface is formed by a slip material 18, such as metal, having low friction coefficient. Further, the size of the friction material 17 part is set to a value equal to or slightly larger than that of the slip material 18 part.
